SCENTINARY

Privacy & data

Operator: Scentinary (operator identity to be completed before public launch). Contact: hello@scentinary.com.

Information we collect

When you create a free account, we use your email address to send sign-in links and manage access. If you save hotels, we store the hotel IDs against your account so your saved list follows you across devices; you can remove saved hotels at any time. If you independently opt in to the newsletter, we store your subscription status, confirmation date and unsubscribe preference. Hotel representatives who complete a questionnaire provide their professional name, role, email and property answers. We also keep private hotel research notes and a history of reviewed information.

Why we use it

We use this information to run the directory, contact hotel representatives about their submissions, prevent abuse and review the accuracy of hotel information. We do not publish hotel representatives' personal contact details.

Public information

Approved property-level fragrance practices, verification dates and general hotel details may be published. Hotel-reported information is labelled accordingly and can be corrected by contacting us.

Service providers and security

Our application is hosted using infrastructure managed by us, with a private PostgreSQL database. Automated sign-in and newsletter confirmation emails are sent through Resend; hotel correspondence is handled through Zoho. If we later use a marketing email provider to send newsletters, we will respect confirmed consent and unsubscribes. We use essential session cookies for account access and reasonable security controls. Affiliate booking links may take you to third-party providers with their own privacy notices.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from Scentinary newsletters through the link in each marketing email or contact hello@scentinary.com. Contact us for access, correction or deletion requests, subject to applicable legal requirements.

Before production launch: confirm the operating legal entity, lawful bases, retention periods, international transfers, cookie practices and all required privacy disclosures with your adviser. This page is a draft.
